Can anyone describe or post a picture of the first pattern of 1910 canteen cup.  Is there any difference between the first pattern and any other WW1 era cup other than markings?

A true first pattern has no date and the handle is all coated steel.

These are not so easy to find.

Absolutely Pep, and the handle have conical rivets.

Hi all, just recently acquired this first pattern m1910 cup. Pep said the very first style had chromed steel handles like mine. How rare are these ? As I’ve never seen one other than these forums

Hard to say exactly.  They are very uncommon.  I had mine for years before I checked with a magnet.

I bet many out in the World have them but just never checked.

I have only seen 5 or so and that includes the one I own.
