yess 42 i think... but i don't think the two pieces belong together. One of the metal endings has brass pins, the other hasn't.

The other sling has a round stamp.. does anyone recognize this? the last picture

steel claws early ww2--- other ww2 also im sure

I thought brass was early WWII and then switched to steel later WWII

The adjustment hooks and hardware on early M1907 Slings were made of brass, while the later WWII examples had steel hardware with an oxide finish
