Garandy Posted May 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted May 7, 2020 This was found in a USMC officers trunk in Connecticut. It was mint unissued with an M1 rifle cartridge belt. 1950s contract. He was in early to mid 1950s but the cover is WW2 I think and the EGA isn’t added it’s part of the original cover? Opinions

mdk0911 Posted May 7, 2020 Share #9 Posted May 7, 2020 I pretty sure they didn't stamp each half and then sew together? I think it would be pretty tough to line up the stamp and then sew - that would be a first for me
Garandy Posted May 7, 2020 Author Share #10 Posted May 7, 2020 I wondered that too...it’s probably them a 1945 cover the officer never used since he was in 1950-55 era and the web M1 rifle cartridge belt was mint 1955 dated and his P47s were mint. I did buy his empty trunk it’s marked for a Fleet Amphibious training unit with the EGA added but I still think it’s a gem

olivedrab1970 Posted May 8, 2020 Share #12 Posted May 8, 2020 Great WWII USMC cover, the stenciled EGA is the early smaller version post WWII addition. Great Cover! Robin-
