BagmanL6 Posted May 1, 2020 Share #1 Posted May 1, 2020 US Vietnam Navy Seal Party Suit Patched out UDT Special Forces Seat Team One eBay item number: 362983439418 https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Vietnam-Navy-Seal-Party-Suit-Patched-out-UDT-Special-Forces-Seal-Team-One/362983439418?hash=item54837fbc3a:g:EBIAAOSwKpdeoFWf Good day fellow collectors. I want to bring this fake/doctored item to the attention of the community. I sold this item at SOS 2020. It is an 1980s era party suit that belonged to an Army Officer stationed in Korea. All off the patches that "contradict" this being a SEAL party suit have been removed. It also originally had a heavy brass belt buckle that has been separated from the party suit. Nkomo Posted May 1, 2020 Share #2 Posted May 1, 2020 I can attest to what Jeff has posted above because I have held it in my own hands on numerous occasions at various shows.
gwb123 Posted May 1, 2020 Share #3 Posted May 1, 2020 That's too bad. It looked pretty neat in it's original form. It would be interesting to see if the seller has the removed patches for sale.

Shame someone ruined the suit just to try and make more money
doyler Posted May 2, 2020 Share #15 Posted May 2, 2020 yes sad and a bit disgusting but if it was to make more money isn't this the same as those who cut up patch blankets? to para phrase whats been posted on the forum before is the owner has the right to do as he likes with his item(s)… Don't agree with it but its the world we live in and it wont change. We are just temporary renters of these items. The next renter will not do as the prior has done.
Kadet Posted May 2, 2020 Share #16 Posted May 2, 2020 Hi, was the SEAL Team ONE patch on the suit when you owned it? I say that because the other possibility is that the suit was acquired by your Army officer from a SEAL and he added the other patches. The seller may have just removed the stuff that didn't belong. I don't think that is a "party suit". It actually looks to me like a Navy double knit "poopy suit" of the style that was worn on submarines. I have two very much like it only with SEAL Delivery Team TWO patches...
BagmanL6 Posted May 2, 2020 Author Share #17 Posted May 2, 2020 Good morning everyone. Thanks for the responses and views on this. While points have been brought up that make for great conversation I don't want the fact that the suit was altered and is being represented as being something it is not to be lost in our discussions. Kadet - Valid theory based on the information provided and pictures. I know the family of the Army Officer "Michael". He is deceased so as to why the ST 1 patch and embroidered diver I can only guess at this point Yesterday after I started the thread I contacted the seller. Basically told him what I told everyone in my initial post to include the pictures. Like this thread it was just the facts. Did not accuse him of removing the patches, etc. I have yet to receive a response and the item is still offered for sale.
