Capt.Case Posted April 30, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2020 Wanted to share this antique store find while traveling out West last Fall. Both patches are bullion type. It is dated 1942 on the label inside the pocket. Jacket has some moth damage but not too bad. I know the CBI patch is fairly common but I believe the Bullion Ledo Road is scarce. Capt.Case Posted May 2, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted May 2, 2020 Thank you, it was good timing I guess. Could either of you tell me how the hash marks work? I have forgotten. I recall a bit about having to do with time in combat or service.
manayunkman Posted May 2, 2020 Share #5 Posted May 2, 2020 The 3 bars represent 1 and a half overseas. The single hash mark represents 3 years of service state side. That’s 4.5 years total.

Actually, the 3 year hashmark is " total time in the Army" Each overseas bar is for 6 months "in a theater of war" - that time would be during the 3 years of total service
manayunkman Posted May 3, 2020 Share #8 Posted May 3, 2020 Thanks for clarifying that. Kind of redundant.
