hello

I thought this was different with Dutch award. I know   the Victory medal is not in proper place but I believe during Victory parades some chose to wear them this way. Also its the wider made ribbon bar but it an army bar. I Believe 101st and 82nd airborne received some of the Dutch awards for Market Garden. missing backing material.

That is an interesting bar. With the way its sewn, I would think it was vet made but not  positive. Man I love the look of the larger bars on that rack.

PH also confirmed headstone OLC to PH fond on newspaper.com

He was wounded Holland 1944

and march 8 1945 germany

There is a list of all Dutch Bronze Lions awarded to 82nd and 101st Airborne personell posted in this section a few years back.

If I look at the pictures,  I am leaning to post war assembled.  The ribbon type/style of the Bronze Lion given in 1945/46 was different. The Orange was more darker.

I believe they were awarded oct 8 1945 to most US soldiers if I read it right ? this would be after that and US victory medal not sure date on that ?

Col. Holmes is a good possible match since he was sent home from Germany due that his wife was sick .(Newspaper.com) so assuming he had no occupation ribbon . just guess on my part ?

You are right. And Holmes is one of them.

No GCM in the group, so an officer is likely.

I think the ribbon rack is wartime or perhaps very early occupation. They were meant to be sewn to a uniform. I've had similar sets on original uniforms....

I have confirmed his Arrowhead on his ETO online and American campaign medal also .Only need confirmation on better source for OLC on Purple heart other than newspaper.com .

the fact no occupation also points me in that direction of Holmes.

Wow, great ribbon bar! Even better that you've got an ID on it.
