WWII 95th ID Liaison Officer uniform

Recommended Posts

Uniform of Maj. Edmund D. White. White started his career off in March, 1926 as a Pvt. in the Maine National Guard, eventually rising to the rank of Major in 1943. He was initially assigned to 1st Battalion 152nd FA BN, serving as a part of Battalion Staff, however when he arrived overseas his assignment changed to being a Liaison Officer with HQ Battery 95th Div. Artillery. During his service, he earned a Bronze Star Medal and Air Medal, along with battle stars awarded for combat in 3 campaigns throughout the European Theater. I’ve always thought these artillery uniform with Air Medals on them were too cool and I’m ecstatic to have been able to find one!

Very nice find, same feelings about ground forces men obtaining the air medal, definitely unique/uncommon. The 95th ID is also a unit uniform wise that rarely comes up in my experiences. It love to hear more about the guy if you can find the air medal citation

Thank you! No secret really, just check eBay a lot and occasionally I'll get stuff off of militaria sales FB pages.

Thanks man, hoping to find more on him once NARA opens up again. I agree that 95th stuff is quite tough to find, this is the first ID'd 95th uniform with insignia and everything that I've seen in a very long time.

Nice. I like seeing 95th Inf. pieces as my great uncle was an officer with the 95th. I have his officers uniform and his combat worn M-1 helmet. I'll have to post on the forum one of these days.
