Crude Field Made Knife

Recommended Posts

Just got this knife today. Crude; but in a way,a decently made knife. Looked to be made for survival purposes. As can be seen the butt of the handle could definitely be made to cause damage. The blade about 6" long is tight in the handle. No markings found. Just thought this would be interesting to show.

Looks like a reworked cattaraugus.

Or perhaps a Viet Cong home made.

Look like an industrial hacksaw blade was used.

I used to get those from my metal shop when they broke a tooth.

I used them when I was making knives.

Make a great throwing knife!!

Strong steel, very flexable and come with the sawtoothed edge.

That is an interesting field expedient knife.  At least in my limited 'travels' and experience you don't often see home-made knives with teeth on the blades' edge.  It is a little tough to tell from the top-down image but the pommel reminds me of the style on the end of an E.G. Waterman fighting knife, minus the ring.
