That's a beauty. Great also to have a family connection. I'd love to own a Luger or P-38 but alas, no pistol permit. I do however have really nice WW2 hard shell holsters for each with replica pistols.

No kidding, that picture is priceless! Looks like the end of a Thompson barrel pointed toward his chest...

 

The P-38 is great as well. I have one (byf 43) with capture papers... The pistol is secured and the capture paperwork is around here somewhere.....

Very cool pistol and great photos! My Father told me that he was going to bring back a couple of Lugers and a couple of P-38’s but my Mother (they were engaged at the time) said that she didn’t want weapons in their house. So he sold them on the troop ship during the trip home.

Found another photo of his Thompson (Boo Boo) with the stock on and the front grip off....Boo Boo was his wife’s Knick name
