Tonomachi Posted April 16, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2020 This style USN/USMC paratrooper wings are sought after by collectors as although it is post war it is an early style wing (1960s maybe 1950s) the originals of which have the three numbered codes of 270 for NS Meyers and 154 for Vanguard (see photos). The L-22 is in my opinion a remake of this style wing by Lordship Industries, Inc. as I once saw a box full of them at the Great Western Gun Show in the 1980s. Someone has now added "STERLING" and "44" to one of these L-22 wings which I thought was interesting (see photo). Someone else who must have obtained the original three numbered code Vanguard dies has been producing them again in three grades (basic, senior & master) for my guess would be either Columbia or Honduras as their airborne troops wear a similar wing. They at least make an effort to remove the original Vanguard hallmarks (see photo). https://www.ebay.com/itm/World-War-II-U-S-Army-Airborne-Paratrooper-Sterling-Jump-Wings-Medal-Pin-L-22-X/324137080942?hash=item4b7813586e:g:TQsAAOSwdsFel5b9
