Viet Nam Era Camo w/ Mitchel Helmet cover Hood modification

Recommended Posts

I have had this since 1978. I was 18 when it was given to me by a Viet Nam Vet. He told me it was good at keeping the bugs from biting his neck and getting into his hair. Its a camo field jacket with a hand sewn 1967 Mitchel Helmet cover on as a hood. Any comments would be appreciated.

Lavel appears to have an NSN, making it 1975 or later so yes.

Thanks guys. Apparently the bugs he was talking about were in Up-State New York not the Central Highlands. Oh well, its still a nice gift from a Veteran (and good guy) who was from my hometown.
