Old Crow 1986 Posted April 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2020 The National World War II Museum has launched a daily online presentation series. This series is an effort to continue the museum's mission of preservation, research, education and outreach during the ongoing COVID 19 battle. Today's (Monday, 13 April) topic is an interview with the last surviving Iwo Jima Medal of Honor recipient Woody Williams As described by the host - "Join us for a very special interview with Woody Williams, the last surviving Medal of Honor recipient to have fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He will share with historian and Digital Content Manager Seth Paridon his experiences and memories of the brutal 36-day fight for Iwo Jima 75 years ago." The event is scheduled for broadcast on Facebook live at 11AM (1100) US Central Time Link - https://www.facebook.com/WWIIMuseum/ Follow the above link...click on "Video" tab on left side of screen...click on "LIVE" (red) button Notes: 1) Woody Williams is one of the last two, living, World War II Medal of Honor recipients. 2) The author of this post is not sure if the interview is broadcast live or from the archives. If it is live, it represents a very rare opportunity to interact with a World War II veteran - and MoH recipient. 3) Mr. Williams life achievements after his incredible heroism on Iwo Jima are as noteworthy and as admirable as the actions that earned him the Nation's highest military honor.
