Reforger Posted April 11, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2020 Some new tags I just got. They belonged to Lt Col Melville Gade who served during WWII and the Korean War. I don't have many details concerning his service or what his funtion was. I did find the following information: California passenger list from 9 Sep 1950 lists his rank as Captain and his service branch as TC. So he was in the Transportation Corps. Gade, Melville B — b. Conn. Nov. 10, 05; C.C.N.Y. 22-23; Tufts Coll. 23-25; U. Calif. 46; US Army 42-46, 48-54. maj., Overseas; steward, US Merchant Marine 26-36; retail merchant 36-39; bldg. mgr. 40-42; mfrs. rep. 46-48, 55-57; app. R-5, gen. sen. off., Kabul June 1, 57; m.-ICA (Biographic Register, United States. Dept. of State, U.S. Government Printing Office, 1957) The tags themselves are in perfect condition. It looks like he barely wore them.
