doyler Posted March 10 #1146 Posted March 10 CPL Edward Romatowski with the M2 Browning .50 MG on his Sherman in Krefeld, Germany - Early March 1945 Serving with C Company,701st Tank Battalion, 102nd Infantry Division, twice Romatowski had tanks shot out from under him, joined up with nearby soldiers and fought with them before catching up with his unit. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his WW2 service. Edward L Romatowski was born on June 24, 1924 in New York State. On November 18, 1945 he married the love of his life, Catherine J Curran and they had a son and daughter. Edward passed away at the age of 79 on December 26, 2003, Catherine passed away at the age of 87 on February 24, 2017. They are buried together at Saint Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Findlay, Ohio.
