Looks fairly new issue helmet as little to no wear to the cork. Also swivel bale seen.

I don’t often see soldiers on a beach getting ON a landing craft. Not sure, but is that a M1917 helmet  I see?

You had to have some real stones to wear a Waffen-SS Kharkov parka around a war zone. Twitchy trigger fingers would've dissuaded most.

Possibly this Marine or another as several were seen with sun helmets.. THis Marine has the full transport pack. The one on the ramp in an earlier picture appears to have the haversack with no tent roll.  Same series of Photos when they are waiting to leave Guadalcanal. Maybe he removed the blanket/tent roll to wrap the captured MG in thats seen in the series of pictures.. Can also see a cleaning rod handle in the end of the barrel. Another Marine has a Japanese flag tied to a rifle
