Is there another talk on these, these helmets with the Red 13 on a Yellow square in Italy? Troops examine a destroyed Marder of the 71st Infantry Division's 171st Anti Tank Battalion May 1944 .

The GI's "steel pot" had many uses, apart from protecting his head!

Here, a GI of the 8th "Golden Arrow" Infantry Division is using his M1's shell to bathe his foot....good foot-care was a must for all infantrymen.

Photographed during the US Army's advance towards Avranches, Normandy - July 1944.

I remember those helmets, a couple of originals popped up on eBay some time ago, I know some forum members own some of them.

A tanker and his tank, wearing the helmet to boot. Taken somewhere in the Pacific theatre.

Sure do.  Met him at a reunion and got him to sign the MOH GI Joe likeness of him….got a picture of him doing it too.  My treasure.

A Ordnance Corps Branch marked steel helmet on I guess an officer, Alsace late Fall of 1944, as he's talking to Maj Gen Roderick R. Allen commander of the 12th Armored Division, then perhaps he is in the 134th Armored Ordnance Maintenance Battalion of this division, maybe even it's commander whoever he was then.

I believe these are sailors based off of their 14-450 bags, great photo though
