USCapturephotos Posted April 5, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2020 I found this in a junk box at a show a few months ago and finally got around to posting it. Nicely made. Is it even military? Thanks for your thoughts. Paul

skypilot6670 Posted April 5, 2020 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2020 Morning Paul.Very possible Civil War. The 7th Ohio wore a rooster badge. There is one in Stan Philips book on Civil War Corps Badges. Its similar to yours. Ive seen one dug by a friend near Washington D.C. if the Richmond show happens this year Ill get a photo to compare to yours.Have a good day , stay safe. USCapturephotos Posted April 5, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted April 5, 2020 Hey Mike. Thanks for your reply. I knew in the back of my mind that there was an Ohio unit that used the rooster as it's symbol but couldn't remember where I had seen it or what unit. I have Phillips book on relics but not the famous Corps Badge book. Thanks for your help and would be happy if you could get photos of the one your friend dug. I'm going to send you a pm... USCapturephotos Posted April 5, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted April 5, 2020 I just found where Heritage auctioned off one very similar to mine about 10 years ago as a "7th Ohio Vol. Infantry" badge. Paul
