Hi Group,

Despite trying not to buy anymore helmets (I'm running out of display space!), I couldn't resist picked up this nice looking P-4B last week via Facebook Market Place. I didn't have any "P" series helmets in my collection so I had to buy it, right? Hahaha! For as long as I resisted getting on FB, it's been a great resource for this hobby... :)

Here's the first two photos, the left side and inside. It's very clean as you can see. The only problems I see are the dry and cracked edge roll. The other problem will be visible in the next set of photos -

Here is the back and right side of the helmet. As you can see, there is a small crack on this side - the other problem area. It's not bad but it's there. Wonder how that happened...??

Finally, a few shots with the helmet on its display head. I did clean the verdigris off of the chin strap button.

Now I need to find the proper MS22001 mask with "T" bayonets. Hopefully one will surface soon on eBay. My eyes are peeled!

Thanks for the looking.

Derek,

Nice rebuild.I have hunted for an edge roll solution for these helmets for a long time.None found. Find the mask,I have a bunch of T bayonets if needed.

Def nice to find with the Hardman fittings installed. Headset assy get butchered? Ive tried to find things on that FB marketplace but its always like ammo cans and old BDUs etc near me. All the good stuff is farther away when you search.

The small cracks in the dome would have been enough to send this one to the salvage yard. I remember sending a lot of flying helmets out that way. Wish I could have kept at least one of them.
