Paul70 Posted March 19, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2020 I was scanning through ebay looking for a WWII Phil Lib plastic covered ribbon and found this one. It is zinc backed, but it has the Alpha-Numeric maker mark. First I have ever seen. All of the post war ribbons I've seen were brass backed. Thoughts? MT247 Posted March 19, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 19, 2020 Is it made of zink or aluminum? Not that I can recall seeing either but I think it would make more sense in aluminum post war. We will have to see what others say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bruce Linz Posted March 20, 2020 Share #3 Posted March 20, 2020 I’m sure that is a post WWII, aluminum backed, ribbon bar. The “G-22” is the numerical hallmark for GEMSCO. I’m not sure exactly when those numerical hallmarks started being used.
Reforger Posted March 20, 2020 Share #4 Posted March 20, 2020 Could be steel (stainless) as well. 1960's or newer based on the code.
