I dont really collect canteens so I cant explain this but.....here are my canteens. Well some of them. There are at least this many more out in the garage.

My favorite is my 1941 Rig. Everything is dated 1941.

Thanks.

Ronnie

Ummm...yes you really DO collect canteens!

I picked up a 1945 Volrath at a garage sale last weekend. I didn't really need it, but for a buck, I couldn't put it back down.

Outstanding Ronnie, been on the lookout for a 1941 canteen for some time now. Covers and cups don't seem to be to elusive, but man the canteens sure are. Thanks for showing, now I know they exist.

Very nice! You're definitely a canteen collector. Those 1941 dated canteens are ver very hard to find, I finally found one after a few years of searching so now I've got a full 1941 set just like yours.

Here are my '41s. The one on the left is in an ATLAS 1941 cover, the center one is in an ATLANTIC PROD. CORP. 1941 cover, and the one on the right is in a BAKER-LOCKWOOD 1941 cover. I once had another '41 canteen that I sold to a fellow collector a while back.

All great collections! Love the 41's. Any pictures of things you guys really do collect? Or don't they make cameras big enough?

Cap Camouflage Pattern I

"I dont really collect canteens".......yeah, me neither Ronnie.

WOW!, you have to have the best canteen collection around, a M1956 LLCE Canteen cover, the plastic experimental ALICE, a enamel canteen cup, very few items missing!

Yes! Thank you for sharing! I’ve been working on a full set (cover, canteen & cup) for 41-45 years. Have them all except that 41 holy grail canteen. The hunt continues for it. Very nice collection though!

Let me know if you plan on selling anymore of your 41 canteens. Last missing piece to my collection. 😁

Great collections posted (and the 1941 TACU canteen, perfect!). I started out collecting with a mess kit, and now have too many mess kits and too many canteens, and on top of that I collect uniforms and still wind up with more canteens in groupings. 😅 Something to be said about the appeal of a canteen or messkit, they may be basic items but there is a whole collecting field to them both.

Ronnie, that is one of the best Canteen collection shots I've ever seen. Yes, you do collect Canteens; it just creeps up on you until

one day you realize that you have this illness.

No '41 Canteens, but here is an interesting comparison of 2 Baker-Lockwood 1941 Covers.

Of note is the back side of these Covers, showing the revamped construction which came about in '41-'42.

Here is one out of the Jeffersonville Depot, made of heavy denim instead of the usual canvas, and still patterned in the original M1910 Covers

with the main seam up the rear center.
