Hello everyone..need help identifying service ribbons

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

I'm trying to identify the service ribbons from my grandfathers Army Uniform.

He served in WW1 WW2 and Korea

I'm unable to identify the right hand ribbon on the top right..in red square..

Plus the bottom two left ribbons..

One in the the blue square with the two devices and the other on the bottom row in the red square.

If anyone could offer stories on the other ribbons that would appreciated as well.

I just know the other ribbons by name and not much more.

Thanks for your help!

Green with white stripes is the Army Commendation Ribbon/Medal

Lower left ribbon is OBE (Order of the British Empire), Middle Lower is the UN Korea Ribbon/Medal, Right lower is the WWI British War Medal

Ribbon in the Blue square is the Armed Forces Reserve Ribbon/Medal given for 10 years service in a reserve capacity - each hourglass device represents an additional 10 years.

If you provide us with his name we can provide more info

Wow!

Thank you so much!

I guess the ribbons changed colors a bit

I would have never have figured them out!

Here is my grand fathers grave

Claudius Henry Mastin Roberts Birth 1894 Death 1969 (aged 74–75) Burial Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA

As well he held a number of patents...including this one for the US Army

https://patents.google.com/patent/US3495532A/en?inventor=Claudius+H+M+Roberts&assignee=Us+Army&num=100

Any more information about him would be great to know.

I have his Class A Uniform...not sure what to do with it..other than take it apart and make a display case for it..

Thanks for any ideas!

Dan

PS..His father was a southern Georgia Sharpshooter in the Civil War and is buried close by as well in Arlington...just figured this out a few years ago...Trying to figure out more about him as well!!!
