The Rooster Posted March 11, 2020 Author Share #10 Posted March 11, 2020 Their USN Cousins..... All stamped USN Carrollton Mfg. Co. on the back Nice !!! They look just like mine ! Mine have different brands and I have the one USMC tray. The rest look like ARMY. I'm happy to report I had a great meal tonight. Love the sep compartments. 1 for cottage cheese. 1 for apple sauce 1 for bread and the big compartment for the main course and nothing runs together. I must say, I like em !!!! KRIS FORD Posted March 12, 2020 Share #11 Posted March 12, 2020 Just slap 4 pieces of toast and a couple good scoops of chipped beef on that bad boy and I'd be ready for another 18 hour day underway!
MattS Posted March 12, 2020 Share #12 Posted March 12, 2020 I love these! I borrowed a dozen from a local surplus store for an army reunion we were having several years ago and I used a large plastic tote filled with warm soapy water to wash them as they sure didn't fit in my sink. And yes, we had SOS.
The Rooster Posted March 12, 2020 Author Share #13 Posted March 12, 2020 When I got them in and took them out of the box, I was amazed at how big they are. They really hold a lot of food. I'd forgotten how much food they gave us. I love SOS. lol

mikie Posted March 12, 2020 Share #15 Posted March 12, 2020 I found this video a while ago. It may not apply to your trays, but thought you may enjoy it. I'd LOVE to have one of these! Mikie
The Rooster Posted March 12, 2020 Author Share #16 Posted March 12, 2020 Hey !!! Thats an awesome video ! Thank you ! You are right it would be cool to have one of those. Made out of wrecked aircraft. I love how they mention that the trays are better than the mess kits and the footage of them turning in their mess kits and being handed a tray. Notice too how they mention the tray keeps everything from sloshing together !!! lol I bet its super rare to find one but Im guessing some are floatiing around somewhere ? I wonder if any made it home? Thank you for that !
