quartercav Posted January 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2009 I have two accounts from my uncle, Edwin Hassig, who was a Marine TSgt on Wake Island when WWII broke out. One is transcribed letters home before WWII, and letters home as a POW. Includes a scan of a postcard to his brother, which is clearly postmarked Pearl Harbor, Dec 8,1941, at 10AM. A 5MB word file. Second is a transcribed account written after WWII about life as a Japanese POW. A 39KB Word file. I can send these out to anyone interested, if not too overwhelmed.
