Hi, my friends.

I don't have much experience with this type of jacket, what do you think about it.

Is it a war pilot jacket?

Is it the typical manufactured at the end of the war 44-45?
Regards.

Looks like a civilian model.

Especially with the zipper centered on the front of the jacket.

If there is a label and it has "original type" at the bottom, it's a civilian knockoff.

I can't help with the authentication, There are Many repro's on the market.

But if you are looking for 44-45 time frame I would think the B15A, Which has the leather tab's sewn above the pockets. That modification took place in the Fall of 44.

But I'm sure there were B-15 being worn at that time.

Do you have a pic of the manufactures tag?

Edit: Looks like you got several replies while I was typing.

It looks like it might have the slightly offset front zipper, but it is hard to tell from the angle of the first picture. Condition-wise, it looks like typical damage/deterioration for a 1940's vintage jacket. Some B-15's appear to have had snaps on the pockets while others did not. Photos of the tag could help verify if its a real B-15.

Never seen a old civilian copy with the Air Corps stencil...the civilian B15,M43s etc I run into have a quilted liner usually.Material is lighter weight too.As mentioned the word "TYPE" or "STYLE" is a red flag on the label.

Thanks my friends for help.

I think the zipper is not sewn in the center, but the angle of vision shows the error.

Unfortunately, the jacket is not in my possession, it is a future purchase that I would like to add to my collection. This jacket is in England for sale. I have asked the seller to show me the interior and its label.
