aznation Posted March 3, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 3, 2020 As far as I could determine there were only two men that served during WWII by those initials and last name and one of them Robert Daniel Blackmon Jr from Alabama but he served in the Navy aboard the submarine USS Thresher. So it couldn't be him. The other was Ralph Daniel Blackmon Sr who was a private in the U.S. Army (unit undetermined). I could find no newspaper articles concerning the awarding of the medal to Ralph when I looked. I'm almost certain that Ralph D. Blackmon is your guy however.
