Lancer-86 Posted February 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 29, 2020 So every war has a great reference book for US uniforms and equipment. What is the book for the US in the Korean War? Thanks in advance
patches Posted February 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 29, 2020 This one,Uniforms of the Korean War Shelby Stanton, also the companion books by the same author, WWII, The Cold War (Covers late 1940s to Mid 1970s) and Vietnam. https://www.amazon.com/U-S-Army-Uniforms-Korean-War/dp/0811729524
Captainofthe7th Posted February 29, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 29, 2020 That's the one. Depending on what you're getting into, Keller's SSI books cover Korea and Rottman's order of battle is great. If you're looking for something like Into the Blue or Doughboy to GI that feature current photos of uniforms and equipment geared towards collectors, there aren't any references that I know of. I'm no expert but have been invested in Korean War for a long time, so drop a line if you have questions. Rob
MattS Posted February 29, 2020 Share #4 Posted February 29, 2020 Stanton's is the best. The only other ones I have are "The American Soldier" by Philip Katcher that has a 4-page section on Korea and a USMC section with 6 illustrations on Marines in Korea, and "American Web Equipment 1910-1967" by Martin J. Brayley.
