tredhed2 Posted February 27, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 27, 2020 Sweetheart insignia tends to be smaller than standard DIs. There is one reference to this piece, minus the eagle backing, in the OD 70 Trading Post; there is a supplemental SG DI "catalog" listed in the issue. Probably too late for a mess jacket device (no info avail that SG units wore them), IMO this may be a hat/cap device.

Ilin1979 Posted February 27, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted February 27, 2020 Thanks tredhead, that's the same info that is in a current state guard catalog.
mrgsmvm Posted January 3, 2021 Share #6 Posted January 3, 2021 This is most definitely a Sweet Heart pin that is two piece construction. It represents the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 2nd Division, Massachusetts State Guard WW II era. If you ever want to part with that item let me know as I collect Massachusetts State Guard WW I & WW II. Very nice item!!!
