Ilin1979 Posted February 23, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2020 I have never seen a double screwback unit crest. Is this normal?
Ray42 Posted February 23, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2020 Normally not but I have seen some that do it, I actually have that exact same insignia except mine has been curved so I believe it may have been used on a helmet. My best guess is that they were German made.
Wake1941 Posted February 23, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2020 Definitely German made, I doubt its for a helmet. The single post Screwback were pretty available at this time. Im sure they had options of Pinback/Screwback at the German shops
Ray42 Posted February 23, 2020 Share #4 Posted February 23, 2020 It was just an idea, mine is curved in such a way that it fits perfectly on an unrelated liner I have that had an extra hole drilled in it for some reason.
Wake1941 Posted February 23, 2020 Share #5 Posted February 23, 2020 Any chance it could be for a plaque or something like that ? The double post seems like itd be a pain to put on a uniform. Also the ends are not sharpened to pierce cloth
tredhed2 Posted February 23, 2020 Share #6 Posted February 23, 2020 There are other double SB DIs. This unit was activated in 1958, assigned to the Constab unitl 1950 when Constab inactivated and all previous units assigned 7th US Army. DI approved 13 Jan 50.
