mdk0911 Posted February 18, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2020 All this knife is in an auction and wonder how much this will go for? Blade is stamped " Randall Made Orlando, Fla S " on one side and has a dedication engraving to " SGT. T. Metivier, 12th G.P S.F ( ABN ) 101st ( ABN ) JFKSPWARCEN " Link https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/81439409_vietnam-war-special-forces-named-randall-knife
doyler Posted February 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 18, 2020 Looks like a Model Number 1 - 7 inch Stainles blade. The S is the Stainless mark.
kilian Posted February 19, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 19, 2020 No idea what it will sell for, but by the looks of the blade Sgt Metivier operated a typewriter and had acces to a laser.
sactroop Posted February 19, 2020 Share #4 Posted February 19, 2020 Do a search for "jfkspwarcen" on the web. This specific knife looks to get around. Some completed auctions and some open ones.

doyler Posted February 19, 2020 Share #6 Posted February 19, 2020 the abbreviations seem odd.. Cant say I have ever seen a Vietnam era Randall engraved/etched that way

byf41 Posted February 19, 2020 Share #8 Posted February 19, 2020 I would date this knife to the late 70's - early 80's based on the spacer configuration and salmon stone . JMO

Charlie Flick Posted February 19, 2020 Share #10 Posted February 19, 2020 I have to agree with Ron. Isn't the proper method of abbreviation of 12th Special Forces Group written as 12th SFG, not 12th G.P. S.F. (ABN)? Of course, I suppose that this blade could have been engraved (or whatever it is) by a local craftsman working overseas and not someone skilled in military unit abbreviations. Nonetheless, there are too many anomalies with this blade. I would walk away from it. Charlie
