Recent find. Musette bag with a wallet and ditty bag inside. Ran the number and found Margeret Prior from Milwaukee, WI, enlisted in 1943 as an Aviation Cadet. But there the trail goes cold.

There was not a WASP named Margaret Prior. Plus, the WASP were never made a part of the regular Army.

 

She could have been a WAC assigned to the Air Corps. They were nicknamed Airwacs.

In past research, I have come across a few enlistment records for men that showed "Aviation Cadet." However, never found any evidence they trained as such or eventually flew. I believe it may be an erroneous code that is sometimes encountered.
