A friend found these with a pilot with patches from the 523rd Tac FTR squadron, 50th FTR ETR Wing, 4456th CCTS, and 615th TAC FTR squadron. Does anyone know what either one is?

Thanks in advance,

"Select Crew" was a Curt LeMay deal. One of his SAC innovations to inspire crews to train harder and score higher on their many and various skill inspections. SAC was a TOUGH life .

Your select crew is specific to the 50th TFW at Hahn AB, Germany, in the early 60s. This program was used in USAFE and had nothing to do with the SAC one though it used similar elements. It is German made.

That's actually my patch! I'm an SSS member, and put all those patches and history together for that site. I have about 90 more to load soon. Lots of neat stuff there if you're into USAF history and patches.

Seeing the 2nd patch my first thought was "Labor Service" since many of the LS patches were woven ones. Now that Randy has mentioned Hahn Air Base...
