sactroop Posted January 30, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 30, 2020 FYI, this is Curtesy of the work provided to us by our late friend "Bayonetman". NORD 8114 is the Navy Ordinance contract number for your sheath. This specific contract was issued in March 1945 for 672000 units total, consisting of both MK1 and MK2 sheaths. Hombre Posted January 30, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted January 30, 2020 Thank you very much for your answer, sactroop. I really appeciate it! Is it possible to say if the sheath is the correct one for the knife so to speak? Best, Hombre
sactroop Posted January 30, 2020 Share #4 Posted January 30, 2020 The time frame for guard marked Navy MK2's and the contract date for the sheath would put them in line for possibly being mated with each other at the factory for delivery.
