scottplen Posted January 25, 2020 #1 Posted January 25, 2020 Finally acquired a Tough Ombré Purple Heart ! Very honored to be the caretaker of this brave mans memory . Killed fighting in Selters Germany on March 29 1945 as part of 359th RCT assigned to 4th armored as a combat team. I have found some research he was Swedish American from Chicago . A member of nebo Lutheran Church baptized there in 1926 . Not sure when he joined the 90th ?

IrishLegion Posted January 25, 2020 #4 Posted January 25, 2020 You've acquired an incredible Heart. RIP John!
tdogchristy90 Posted January 25, 2020 #5 Posted January 25, 2020 Very nice Scott! I have a 358, 90th ID. I've enjoyed researching him. It was neat seeing this tonight.
kristoffer Posted January 27, 2020 #6 Posted January 27, 2020 Very nice PH. I hope you will be able to find out more about him. For me it's interesting to see the connection to Sweden.
BlueTrane26 Posted January 27 #7 Posted January 27 Thats kind of crazy. Thats the same place (and I think the same date) that my grandfather got his purple heart with the 359th. Must have been a crap day for a lot of people.
