wartimecollectables.com Posted January 23, 2020 Share #30 Posted January 23, 2020 Ferdinand Busik was killed in an automobile accident in October 1919. Someone had to have added the Silver Star to your group since Busik was not able to apply for the medal in 1932. S Bruce Linz Agreed an a '32 issue would be named. themick Posted January 24, 2020 Share #31 Posted January 24, 2020 I agree with KurtA that the patch shown in the grouping is not the same as the one in the photo of the Marine. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Back when Bob Queen (Eric Queen's father) was still getting large groupings from living WWI vets, including full original trunks with the gear still in them, I saw several times when a vet kept an extra patch or more. This one could easily be one of those. The patch itself looks perfectly legit. Just not the one on the uniform. Steve
Airwolf Posted January 26, 2020 Share #32 Posted January 26, 2020 Great looking group. Another interesting items is that he only has one Sgt. chevron on the right sleeve, I always attributed the single chevron to Army practice.
