Yeah I received an email reply on Jan 4 this year saying that it might be several more months before the "second level review" is completed.

I have no idea what that means other than I shall wait for several more months and see what happens.

The Lancers!   I love the Aviation background with it since my father was a 101st Aviator.  Also know guys who flew with Bravo Co back in their Huey days.

Congratulations on receiving a letter showing it went to a combat unit! Mine was with the 101st for a similar amount of time, Dec 2017-May 2019.

It sure is icing on the cake to have an archival type letter for an issued Army pistol that shows probable service in Afghanistan!

Yes I love that connection too!

These are just too cool. I didn't even know about them being released to the public. US property marked items are something special. An like-for-like commemorative or civilian version just doesn't have the cool factor. That you can do a FOIA act on these and get some real info is awesome! I had a Reising Model 50 and the FOIA request provided me a lot of documents but they were all blanked out except for my serial number. That FOIA request was almost not worth the time. Thanks for sharing!

Thats pretty cool to find out all that info about it.   I kinda wish I was able to have picked one of those up,  I'm enjoy the civilian P320/M-17 I bought, nice pistols. If you didn't already, you should pick up one of the Safariland Modular Handgun Holster sets they made for them.   Can mount them on a belt, MOLLE rig or the thigh.

Anyone else been able to locate legit USGI accessories to accommodate those Surplus M17s in your collection?

Been able to find USGI 21rd & 17rd mags NIW (pics below ~ both appear to be SIG-produced ~ CAGE 6ZWB1), and the holster set, but that’s about it… Would LOVE to acquire a legit USGI TM (Hard Copy, not digital / print).

When I read your post, I figured how hard can it be to find a hard copy of the TM ? Well I looked and couldn't find any either! Guess I'm on the hunt for one of those now.

Agree, would love to find a printed copy of the current TM, both -10 and I think the Mx is -23P but not 100 percent on that.  I know I have the digital versions from when they first came out.  Printed TMs are started to be a thing of the past, especially with the USAF it seems.  Everything is going digital for the most past.  I love having both printed and ETMs.   I have  3 21rnd, 3 17rnd, 3 10rnd and 1 30rnd factory Sig mags for the 320/M17 but I might have to find some of these Mil Contract ones just for collecting sake.  Can you read the bodies of those to see if they are the ones made in USA or Italy?  Factory Sig mags are made in both places.

Both say “Made in Italy”  (pics below)

Other than the unique USGI packaging, I don’t THINK there’s a way to tell these apart from normal civilian mags (hence the importance of NIW USGI mags for collectors who’ve picked up a surplus M17). Anyone got any better intel on this?
