Terry G Posted January 18, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2020 I am wondering if this Gaunt marking is legitimate? If so, what period is this from? WWII or between the wars? Sorry for small pictures. Thanks for any help! Cheers, Terry
Brig Posted January 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2020 There was no uniform emblem in this design, but there was a known sweetheart pinback. Never seen a screwback...but these used to sell stupid high a decade ago during the EGA craze, so I guess it's possible it was converted. Any signs of having had a clasp on the anchor? The swivel hinge could have been replaced with the stabilizer pin Or, they could have produced a sweetheart screwback. Not a uniform item, though
Terry G Posted January 18, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted January 18, 2020 Thanks for the information. You are probably right. The globe is very flat, not much depth to it, so probably originally sweetheart jewelry. This is not mine, it is actually listed on ebay right now. I don't have any better photos and can't seem to copy any photos in the right size (except this one) to get them to post here. Thanks for your help!
