Burning Hazard Posted January 17, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2020 Very interesting footage, never seen a 3-panel in Korea before. Medic panels were "officially" phased out in 1949 but it appears applications was still done well into Korea/Vietnam Pat

Grant G. Posted January 17, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2020 It looks like he wrapped the web chinstrap around the front of the helmet's brim. Very cool stills, Pat!

Nickman983 Posted January 17, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 17, 2020 Nice find Pat, thanks for sharing! It looks like he wrapped the web chinstrap around the front of the helmet's brim. Very cool stills, Pat! I missed this the first time around. I've got a few photos from the mid 50's of guys in the 5th ID that appear to be wearing their chinstraps like that. Its a bat hard to tell for certain though. Between the 5th ID yearbook I have and some pictures my grandfather took there are a handful of interesting photos including a few of burlap covers in Germany in '55 as well as a 2" net in use. If anyone's interested I can take some time this weekend and upload them.
