milsurp_scout_14 Posted January 15, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 15, 2020 This pouch was found inside of an early 1990s CFP90 patrol pack. At first I thought it may be for holding a large amount of M14 mags; but the more I pondered, it seemed as though maybe anti-personnel mines might be the better guess. It's got two separate flaps, with a divider down the middle of the inside. There are heavy duty belt loops on the back. No markings anywhere. Anyone know for sure what it was used for? McDermut99 Posted January 15, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 15, 2020 I agree, they look more like pouches for claymore mines rather than mags.
Spike Posted January 15, 2020 Share #4 Posted January 15, 2020 This pouch is not for claymores.
milsurp_scout_14 Posted January 16, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted January 16, 2020 I'm sure it's not for the Claymore, as they wouldn't fit. I have a smaller nylon APERS mine pouch, so perhaps this one just carries more of them?
mohawkALSE Posted January 16, 2020 Share #6 Posted January 16, 2020 I think I saw a pouch somewhere that looked like this that said it was for 100 round cartons of linked 7.62 for the M60 but not sure if it was a nylon pouch or rubberized canvas. Linedoggie Posted January 17, 2020 Share #7 Posted January 17, 2020 looks like a M2 Bradley FPW mag pouch someone modified
milsurp_scout_14 Posted January 17, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted January 17, 2020 Either one of those ideas sound possible, although the M60 ammo one seems most plausible. Each pocket looks like it could hold a 100-brick of 7.62. Linedoggie, do those firing port weapons take normal 30rd mags?
The Rooster Posted January 17, 2020 Share #9 Posted January 17, 2020 Definately not for a claymore. Claymore has one flap and on the inside of the flap are sewn on printed instructions for using the mine. Claymore bag has a long strap to wear over your shoulder. Hard to tell how big those pouches are from the pics.. Maybe grenade pouches?
Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted January 17, 2020 Share #10 Posted January 17, 2020 Looks like it has belt loops on the back, probably for a 2" tall belt so I'd guess maybe 4" tall, 3" wide and 2" deep. I feel like I've seen it before but I cant dredge up where.
