vintageproductions Posted January 13, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 13, 2020 It's a Thai made copy of a patch that appeared in one of Cencil Smyth's books back in the 80's. www.vintageproductions.com "A militaria show is a social event for anti-socials" - A.T. 2008 ASMIC Executive President

all-bull Posted January 13, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 13, 2020 Bob, when do you think this made? I dont think Thailand has changed their manufacturing process very much since the war? gwb123 Posted January 14, 2020 Share #6 Posted January 14, 2020 Bob, when do you think this made? I dont think Thailand has changed their manufacturing process very much since the war? Sure they have. They use modern production methods like Korea and everyone is these days. Far more labor efficient (cheaper) than hand embroidered patches or patches made with a hand guided sewing machine. Go on eBay, type in "Thai Air Force patch" or "Thai Military Patch" and you will see all kind of modern produced patches. all-bull Posted January 14, 2020 Share #7 Posted January 14, 2020 Ok thanks Gil. I swear Ive got some some 1990s-2000s Thai patches that look they were made the same as the Vietnam war era. Of course Ive already forgot that was at least 20 years ago! "Bullets make the best goodbyes. The more people I meet, the more bullets I need."
vintageproductions Posted January 14, 2020 Share #8 Posted January 14, 2020 The book was done in the mid 80's so had to have been made around then. You will also see this design in some old VICN's with the twisted rope border that was also used on copies then. www.vintageproductions.com "A militaria show is a social event for anti-socials" - A.T. 2008 ASMIC Executive President
