Pbaczuk Posted January 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2020 Here is a grouping from medic named Ridley Harris. It includes his helmet shell, Victory Medal, War Diary and A St Nazaire souvenir postcard pack. The helmet has a caduceus scraped into the front of the paint beneath the Old Hickory logo. His diary is a serious of brief highlights of the days, some battle entries, some where the day is just described as "hell", trips to the preacher or to attend the "preaching" and a good number of whiskey entries. This first image came in sideways. I tried to delete it and install a correct orientation but I was not able to .. sorry about that.

Pbaczuk Posted January 13, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted January 13, 2020 entries: hell and whiskey. Maybe "whiskey" was code for something else like a medical aid station. He made reference to portions of the lines the 30th maintained as the "brown line" and "blue line" and other portions noted by colors in the sector. 644td Posted February 9, 2020 Share #18 Posted February 9, 2020 Great find, the helmet insignia is really nice and having his dairy and victory medal is fantastic. I will try and help you find anything about him. Do you have any idea where his was from? Marty

Pbaczuk Posted February 9, 2020 Author Share #20 Posted February 9, 2020 That has to be him. I do not understand why there is a caduceus etched into the helmet though if he was infantry.
