cagedfalcon Posted January 8, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2020 So, I had this helmet laying around & an old lamp. Helmet had no suspension, drilled out copper rivet. Soft color LED bulb puts out a nice glow. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
BILL THE PATCH Posted January 8, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2020 Nice job, it's yours to do with as you like. I'm shocked nobody is giving you a hard time for doing that. Give it time. Lol Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk
cagedfalcon Posted January 8, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted January 8, 2020 All I did was remove a rivet & use existing hole. Using LED creates almost no heat to preserve finish. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

MattS Posted January 8, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 8, 2020 Nice conversion! No damage done, unlike a helmet I recently saw that had been turned into a lamp.

The Rooster Posted January 9, 2020 Share #8 Posted January 9, 2020 Awesome! Does the red line across it mean it failed inspection at some point and was retired? Really an awesome lamp! Nce job !
Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted January 9, 2020 Share #9 Posted January 9, 2020 Awesome! Does the red line across it mean it failed inspection at some point and was retired? Really an awesome lamp! Nce job ! Yes, at the factories a helmet from each batch was tested with a special .45 bullet. If they failed a hole was punched in the rim and a red stripe painted over the top. They were used for training only.

TheMariner Posted January 9, 2020 Share #11 Posted January 9, 2020 No harm no foul, honestly I think it looks great nice creation. Somebody would most likely buy something like that, you have actually increased its value!

HoovieDude Posted January 10, 2020 Share #21 Posted January 10, 2020 I have one similar that works as well. But it is obviously "period" done, what ever "period" that may be judging by the electrical components...
