Flashlarue Posted January 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2020 Not the best photo, circa 1951. What is going on with this CIB, the wreath is strange?

atb Posted January 7, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 7, 2020 Looks like Army Aviator wings. They would be pretty new in 1951.

Wake1941 Posted January 8, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 8, 2020 Pretty sure its not regulation, I always thought the wing went above the CIB
triplecanopy Posted January 8, 2020 Share #6 Posted January 8, 2020 I have been out a long while, but if I recall, no award or badge is worn above the CIB
patches Posted January 8, 2020 Share #7 Posted January 8, 2020 Pretty sure its not regulation, I always thought the wing went above the CIB In example, in Shelby Stanton's Uniforms of the Korean War there's a photo of a trio of Medical Evac Pilots standing in front of a Egg Beater, one of them, a 1st Lt, probably a 1st Lt, wears his wings below a Combat Medics Badge, it's an interesting photo because this Officer with the CMB is a Commissioned Field Artillery Officer rather then Medical Corps, brings up interesting questions right. easterneagle87 Posted January 8, 2020 Share #9 Posted January 8, 2020 TRIPLECANOPY is right. Combat badges always trump.
