Not Your Typical Grouping

Happy New Year Everyone,

This group was dropped off at my dads shop last year, and Im just now getting to it. It is items that belong to Col. George Sottong. I haven't yet begun to research him, but judging by all the stars on his ETO ribbon, he may get really interesting. Included in the group, are a portrait, a framed certificate with the Wappen of Weinheim, a photo album of the celebration of the rededication of the Heidelberg Old Bridge. What I found unusual was included in the group was a group of documents pertaining to the marriage between the Colonel and a German woman, which included German marriage certificates from the city of Heidelberg, travel documents, and a few documents belonging to his bride from during the war.

Here are his wife travel documents and his mother in laws citizenship ID cards. Inside of the travel documents was this interesting notice referring to the Occupational Government

A report card belonging to his bride and a document pertaining to her father, as well as a few others pertaining to their marriage and getting her back to the states. I hope everyone enjoyed it, and any insight or information about the Colonel is welcome. Happy New Year!
