Small canvas bucket

For years I wondered about the smaller canvas bucket, primarily why it's not listed in the Quartermaster Supply Catalog. The large 18 quart bucket is listed in the QM catalog, but why not the smaller one unless it's not a QM item? Well, my suspicion was correct. It's a Medical Department item. Found it listed in the 1941 MED3 Supply Catalog under Item 99140.

And to verify, here it is in a June 1944 medical handbook listed as an item in Medical Pack Unit #2.

And just in case you're not familiar with the Unit #2, it's the large canvas bag mounted to a pack board.

Doing the math, the capacity of the smaller bucket in my picture is just under 10 quarts. And of course the larger one is 18 quarts.
