RDUNE Posted December 23, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 23, 2019 According to the NARA POW info, his "parent unit number" was 101, which I assume means 101st Inf Regt. https://aad.archives.gov/aad/record-detail.jsp?dt=466&mtch=1&cat=all&tf=F&q=39696958&bc=&rpp=10&pg=1&rid=96261 As for service info, I'd reach out to the library/courthouse in his home town and see what they have on him. I've been surprised how many courthouses have DD-214s on file. -Ryan Looking for Virginia Purple Hearts , especially Roanoke Virginia and Arlington Cemetery Purple Hearts. I'm willing to pay a premium. $$$
easterneagle87 Posted December 23, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted December 23, 2019 All your info is great and I'm thankful for your generous efforts. 101st Inf Regt which was part of the 26th Inf Div. There was a DFC in the acquisition and thought they might have gone together, but since he is possibly ID'd as infantry and it isn't as a Luft Stalag then it is just an additional acquisition. Any other info found is always appreciated. Merry Christmas to ALL! Ben I "primarily" collect Gulf War 1 patches.
