amberg1853 Posted December 22, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2019 Nice collection of medals, appears to be a mix of British, US, German, Japanese and French. Some of the British medals are named. I wish the Pour le Merite was original but I think that one is a repro!
amberg1853 Posted December 22, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted December 22, 2019 2 larger frames and one smaller
amberg1853 Posted December 22, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted December 22, 2019 Smaller frame. Not that a black light is the end all be all but the only one that glows is the French medal in the upper left with the white ribbon, probably a replacement.
kwc271 Posted December 22, 2019 Share #4 Posted December 22, 2019 I believe the medal with the white ribbon and yellow stripes is a Japanese medal

firefighter Posted December 23, 2019 Share #6 Posted December 23, 2019 Is that an Indians War medal next to the GAR one? ASMIC #1098
manayunkman Posted December 23, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 23, 2019 That would be something if that was an early Indian Wars Medal? A very interesting assembly presumably from a collector who had the occasional good eye. The Blue Max if real is either a jewelers copy or Austrian made. The fan that holds the suspension ring is usually what gives that away. Better pictures would help when and if you can. Look for markings because sometime back someone stamped Austrian fan medals with Godet marks. Thanks for posting
USMCR79 Posted December 23, 2019 Share #8 Posted December 23, 2019 Is the Marine Good Conduct Medal name engraved on the reverse? amberg1853 Posted December 27, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted December 27, 2019 Yes that is an Indian War medal. I started a separate discussion on it in particular in the medals section. I wish but no name on the Marine Corps medal.
USMCR79 Posted December 28, 2019 Share #10 Posted December 28, 2019 Are the 3 WWI British Medals named to the same person?
