redone Posted December 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2019 Has anyone ever seen this patch ? Is it military and a U.S. piece ? It looks to be an older made patch. The arrows are embroidered on wool.
BILL THE PATCH Posted December 19, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2019 Pretty sure it's British ww2 patch Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
jagjetta Posted December 19, 2019 Share #3 Posted December 19, 2019 It is not British. It is a 2nd Infantry Regiment patch from the Interwar period. After being assigned to the 19th Infantry Division, the 2nd Infantry Regiment, Regular Army, provided cadres NCOs and privates to form the 35th and 36th Regiments. Here is an example of the patch on a uniform sold by AGM in 2008: JAG Top dollar paid for WWI AEF Tank Corps uniforms, medal groups, equipment and photos, unit histories and rosters...especially anything associated with 301st (Heavy) Tank BnDrop me an email and let me know what you have. atb Posted December 19, 2019 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2019 That patch is being worn incorrectly on the uniform. It is the first Distinctive Unit Insignia approved for the 2nd Infantry in the 1920's. It was to be worn low on the arm near the cuff, not on the shoulder. I think it was added to that coat to "improve" it since that insignia did not exist in WW1.

This is the first design of the 2nd Infantry Regiment DUI that was approved on 20 February 1920. That design was replaced by the 2nd's current design on 19 June 1936. BILL THE PATCH Posted December 20, 2019 Share #6 Posted December 20, 2019 Wrong again, could have sworn it was British. Should have done my homework. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
