A couple year ago I posted a thread about my collection when I was 17 years old and in high school. You can find that thread here if you like http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/266035-a-17-year-olds-helmet-collection/

Now I'm 21 and am back home on break from collage and I though why not share where my collection has come in the past couple of years. If you want to see some closer up pictures or the liners or anything else just let me know.

M1 helmet with hand tied net, Heat stamp is 52A with a Firestone liner. the netting has never come off as far as I know and is tied in a similar fashion to helmets in the 70th and 79th infantry divisions

BRO marked helmet with matching liner and netting. this was my first real big purchase helmet so it has a pretty special place in the collection. the only ID is "bonnie" written on the chinstrap, sadly I haven't been able to find anything with that. The .45 has a 1913 serial number and is my father's who is a gun collector

5th ID marked LTC helmet. It is hard to read but I think it is marked L - 7877. If my research is correct the L would imply that his last name started with an L and from what I've been able to uncover there were only 4 LTCs in the 5th ID who's last name started with an L

3rd ID marked helmet with the early war light blue paint for the insignia. This one has a small caliber bullet impact but personally I think it may of just been used for target practice later in its life

This one is pretty interesting. Marked with a Lts bar, the helmet was heavily painted in a similar fashion to marine raider helmets I've seen, I don't know if it is one but it's a theory. it is marked D 10 inside as well as the number 63. liner is a hood rubber

You have a very impressive collection. I really like how you have displayed your helmets. That 3rd ID helmet really caught my attention. I have been looking for the right one for years. Thanks for sharing.

lastly one of the coolest additions to my collection in the past couple of years is MY helmet. I go to school on an ROTC scholarship and am in my junior year. over the past two summers I have completed Air Assault School at fort Drum and Jungle Warfare School in Hawaii. Trying to get Airborne before I graduate.
