robinb Posted December 12, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2019 Thought that I'd share a recent find. In my experiance these are quite hard to find. Made to hang on the belt and resembles a regular size musette bag. It even has that mysterious loop under the flap.

US Victory Museum Posted December 12, 2019 Share #4 Posted December 12, 2019 I thought I had photos of mine somewhere on my PC; however, having looked without success, instead I'll post this image showing a marine wearing his 1912 NCO musette bag, attached to a M1912 pistol belt and being supported by Mills M1917 suspenders (making this a WWI era image.) Sorry for the small image; it's not mine.

warguy Posted December 12, 2019 Share #6 Posted December 12, 2019 Yeah very nice and as you say hard to find. I have seen only two come to market in the last 7-8 years that I can remember. Wish I would have bought one of those as this remains one of just a few examples of field gear missing from my collection. Congratulations on a nice piece. US Victory Museum Posted December 13, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 13, 2019 The text on the cover is neither a stencil, nor a stamp; it is hand written in block form.
