This Is Interesting!

Recommended Posts

Hey gang! Just stumbled on this ad on ebay, item # 274135314095. The seller has it listed as "WW2 USA-M1905E1 w/ scabbard, GI original cut down from 16", starting at $25.32. The bayonet is not a cut down, but an AFH 10" M1. The cool part is that it has what looks like original M1905 early wooden grips. Check it out. I don't know the seller. If someone could post the ad it would be appreciated. THX SKIP

Could they have replaced the grips with older ones from another bayonet?

That is interesting. I'll look forward to the explanation of the old grips on the later bayos from the pros here. Maybe just a stock of old grip they're trying to use up. Nice grips in any event.

Elizabeth-For whatever reason someone switched out the grips, which were not issued with the M1 bayonets. No doubt they came from a pre-WW2 M1905. We'll never know why. If I didn't have a few AFH M1s I'd bid on it just for the grips. But, I have no intention of bidding. SKIP
